COACHES

Jennifer Brewin (formerly Jennifer Douglas), grew up and learned to skate in southern Ontario where she not only achieved Gold Levels in Figures (Skills), Dance and Freeskate but also competed in Dance and Freeskate.

Jennifer moved to Pentiction where she helped to partner students through their Gold dances. Upon her move to Salmon Arm, Jennifer began teaching with the Salmon Arm Skating Club. Since 1990 she has been a freelance coach, then assistant coach and, for the last decade, the Head Coach.

Jennifer is a Certified Skate Canada Coach for CanSkate, PreCanSkate, PowerSkate, and StarSkate programs. She has coached students to Gold Levels in Dance, Skills, Free Skate and Interpretive. Jennifer is Certified in First Aid and CPR.

Jennifer’s main goal is to teach people to skate, to enjoy it, and to be able to actively participate in skating from the ages of 3 to 83. There is a place for everyone. Developing a well-rounded individual and creating a positive sport environment is important not only to Jennifer but mirrors the philosophy of the Salmon Arm Skating Club.

Breanne Honaizer, grew up and learned to skate here in Salmon Arm with the Salmon Arm Skating Club.

After taking a few years off raising her two children, Breanne remembered her love for the sport, decided to join the club again. Volunteering for 10 years, while working hard to certify herself. Breanne has been an official assistant coach with our club for the last 3 years! Breanne a Certified Skate Canada Coach for CanSkate, PreCanSkate, is a Certified Regional Coach, and has NCCP Level 1.

Breanne's goal is to coach our skaters, while staying up to date on techniques and coaching skills, all while making sure our kids our laughing and having a wonderful time.

PROGRAM ASSISTANTS

We have a group of Program Assistants that help with younger students in the Pre-CanSkate, CanSkate and CanSkate for Hockey/Ringette programs. These Program Assistants have received training with our Club Coach, Jennifer. They work under her direction to set up and monitor stations. This year our Program Assistants include many of our Sr. and Jr. StarSkaters!
